To dominate cricket in the world, no matter what side it is, it is important to have a successful tour abroad. After a successful home season, India will begin the New Year with a tour of South Africa. The party led by Virat Kohli will be in the rainbow nation for three trials, six international one-day (ODI) and three T20I.
The tour will begin with a series of tests starting January 5th. Initially, India also had to play a warm-up match, which was then canceled.
India has never won a series of tests in South Africa and it will be the main target of his team led by Kohli during his landing in the country. In six series of tests since 1992/93, India has lost five and has only drawn one series.
India has always struggled in South Africa. In 17 test matches, India has won only two victories. They lost eight and participated in seven draws.
India has appointed a strong bowling unit for South African testing. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah, after his impressive performances in the limited editions, won a place in the longest format of the game. In addition to him, the team has four front-line bowlers and a versatile player at Hardik Pandya.
Meanwhile, the series of the three-game test series between these two teams has been dubbed "Freedom Series".
After the Test series, the ODI series will start on February 1st and will end on February 16th. India's tour of South Africa ends with three T20Is from February 18th to 24th.
Cricket World Cup kicks off
BEFORE England faces South Africa at the curtain-raiser at The Oval, there are ten preparation matches scheduled the week before.
In the new World Cup format, all nations are ranked in a single league, with the top four qualifying for the semifinal phase.
England will play Australia and Afghanistan after the conclusion of their five-game series against Pakistan.

As in previous ICC tournaments, the preparation matches will be 50 per team but will not carry the official ODI status, as teams can field all members of their 15-person team during the match.
